Standing on a hillside in a field overlooking Bantry Bay, this ancient carving is held to celebrate St Brendan’s voyage in a curragh to America. St Brendan is the patron saint of sailors and travellers.
Kathleen Smyth carved this design based on a 1,000 year old standing stone. It has been hand poured using pure bronze before being carefully polished.
